The move is complete - sort of

Well we did it.

And I am one exhausted man.

We made the move to out fabulous new location and everyone survived. (Well, the pooches are mad that they haven't had much playtime with me, but they will live.)

Thanks to all of you for your support and patience.

We couldn't have picked a worse time to move (right in the middle of the Mother's Day rush), but I think everyone is happy with the move.

The new place is bigger - much bigger. We had a packed house on both Friday and Saturday and we were thrilled.

We are still fine tuning the details, but the tables are set, the paints are out and the shelves are stocked.

Please feel free to stop by the new digs and check it out. The address is 11557 Gravois. (right behind Johnny's Market).

Also, Nate and I just took a fantastic class regarding glass fusion and we CANNOT wait to show you all the new wonderful things you can do with glass.

We will be having both adult and chidren's classes so be on the lookout for those - you WILL NOT want to miss the fun!

Well kids, I am actually going home at a reasonable hour - can you believe that?

And I am super stoked about tomorrow - we are scheduled to get our third kiln installed! Woot!

Much love,

Jim

Hey Melissa girl! How are you doing? Be sure to spread the news....

Suprise! Fresh Bisque!

I bet you thought I had gone and forgotten all about you...but you are wrong. I have just been busy dealing with County types so we can make the move all legal and stuff.

And the good news is WE GOT OUT OCCUPANCY PERMIT! Woo hoo!

So now we can move into the new home of Baked Goods Pottery.

Words cannot express how thrilled Nate and I are to be able to move into a large space. If you have been in the shop over the last few weeks, I think you can understand why we need a bigger place.

Plus, we are getting another kiln to help speed things up. (Am I EVER going to be able to sleep again? I think not.)

So we will announce the Grand Re-Opening date very soon once we find a moving company to help us move all our stuff.

But to tide you over, here is a slide show of some items that have passed through our shop over the last few months.

Enjoy!

I'm baaaaaaack!

Well, we had a fantastic vacation in Gulf Shores and now we are back and ready for work!

Things are changing around Baked Goods Pottery - big changes.

First off, there is the move. We are planning on making the move to a much bigger location in April or May.

And then there has been some major changes in the personnel.

We had to say goodbye to Jessie and Steph. Both left to pursue their futures and we wish them both well.

So now you got me again. I am going to be here every weeknight. Think you can handle that?

And we will be bringing trivia back - due to popular demand.

So just keep you eyes peeled and ears open as we are looking forward to making 2009 a fabulous year!

Much love,

Well, we have finally slowed down enough for me to take a moment to say hello to everyone.

What a wild holiday season we had!

Summer is already looking to be a blast! Lots of Girl Scouts and school trips already on the calendar!

Also, be sure to check the February newsletter for an announcement concerning a party that we are planing for kids!

I have a camera full of photos that I need to upload, but give me some time to re-format them and make them look all nice and shiny.

Don't forget that our Valentine's Day deadline is February 4th. I forgot to put it in the newsletter.

Well kids, papa's got to get back to the salt mines.

Enjoy this cold weather!

Much love,

Hello everyone!

Well what can I say?

I am sitting her in the shop - it is around 4:15 on Christmas Eve. I am just waiting for the last few pickups before we close for the holiday season.

In a nutshell - I am speechless.

What an amazing holiday season. In a time where our economy is sinking fast, I am so thankful that our customers made this holiday season one for us to remember.

Ever since November 15th, our shop has been hopping! As most of you know, our seats were filled and our kilns were overflowing with hundreds and hundred of fantastic handmade creations.

I thought I would take just a moment to reflect on the events over the past six weeks and it is done in random thought theater style:

*Sleep is a luxury. I had no idea that I could do so much with so little sleep.

*My dogs are just bitter. When I walk in the door they would look me up and down and just walk away.

*A full shop is a happy shop. I was always amazed at how the customers would pull together to cram in just one more painter around an already overcrowded table.

*You can NEVER stock enough ornaments. 'Nuff said.

*Whitney Houston beat down Mariah Carey in the holiday music category. For real - hearing Whitney sing, "Do You Hear What I Hear" made me cry.

*Thank God Denny's is open 24 hours. This was my sanctuary when Nate and I would take our "breaks." But is was cool to get recognized there! I highly recommend the Pancake Puffs. They gave me a renewable source of energy.

*I never got tired of seeing my friends. We have made so many amazing friends at the shop! Each time I would see them walk in, they served as my confidants, cheerleaders, and emotional and physical support.

*I got to know the South County Police very well. Being up at the shop at 2, 3 and 4 in the morning caused the cops to stop by just to check on things. Bless them.

*Grade schools can serve as a source of great inspiration! I went to so many schools to do ornaments! We had a fantastic time and I always left jazzed. Kids may be a handful at times, but they can also cause you to remember the reason for the season.

And last but not least -

*The USDA should include cookies into the daily food groups. I ate more cookies than I can count and I loved them all! Thank you so much to all of our fabulous customers for all of their tasty delights!

Well kids, I thank you from the bottom of my heart (and gut!) and look forward to seeing you again.

But now I head out to spend time with my closest friends and wish you all a very merry holiday!

Much love,

Jim
